Durch eine ungewöhnliche Bewegung in meinen heutigen Besucherzahlen bin ich zufällig auf einen Post bei medienrauschen aufmerksam geworden, in dem ich überraschende Erwähnung als eines der zehn einflussreichsten Weblogs in Deutschland angesprochen werde. Zumindest kommen offenbar Edelman und Technorati laut einem entsprechenden Artikel auf micropersuasion zu diesem Schluss. Unglücklicherweise ist dem Verfasser ein kleiner Fehler unterlaufen, und statt 4null4.de ist es 4nul4.de (mit nur einem L) geworden, doch ist vielen schnell aufgefallen, daß hier wohl ein Tippfehler vorliegt. Wesentlich spannender als diesen Vertipper finde ich aber den Umstand, daß diesem Blog hier offenbar mehr Einfluss und Reichweite zugeschrieben wird als ich als Verfasser des Blogs ihm selbst beimessen würde. Ich bin ja unter anderem auch bei Technorati gelistet, und da fiel mir heute eine besondere Zahl ins Auge, die ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte: Zugegeben, der überwiegende Teil dieser Backlinks kommt durch die stark wachsende Binary Blue-Community zustande, jedoch hindert mich das nicht daran, wenigstens ein kleines bißchen stolz auf diese Zahl zu sein - mal ganz außen vor gelassen, daß gewisse Kreise dieser Zahl eine dämonische Bedeutung andichten möchten

I’ve been informed a few days ago that the Paged Comments feature in BB generally works wonderful but has one drawback - the permalinks for the comments don’t point to the appropriate comment page. Neither do the comments links on the dashboard (admin panel) nor the list that is generated through the popular Brian’s Latest Comments plugin. So I sat down this evening, once I was back home from the office, to analyzie the possibility to fix these drawbacks, and I was, generally speaking, pretty successful ;). I’ve been informed through the automated annotation service that’s integrated in the popular Spamkarma 2 plugin for WordPress that everybody, regardless of the WordPress version used, should deactivate the “everyone can register” free guest registration immediately, due to security reasons. Apparently there’s a major security hole contained in WordPress in connection to this feature which is not yet closed (and apparently yet no patch available, otherwise the advice would sound different, right?). Currently I’ve no further details available, but I’ll investigate this issue and will let you know if there’s any news about this.
