Auf der Suche nach einer verfügbaren Lösung für AJAX-enhanced Paged Comments bin ich bei bueltge.de auf einen interessanten Tipp gestoßen, den ich denn auch gleich auf seine Wirksamkeit überprüft habe - Zeichenkennten in PHP, die keine PHP-Variablen enthalten, sollte man nicht in doppelten, sondern nur in einfachen Hochkommata einschließen. Da der PHP-Parser solche Zeichenketten nicht auf eventuell vorhandene PHP-Variablen überprüft, kann das bei umfangreicheren Schleifen (etwa in der comments.php von Wordpress) durchaus messbare Gewinne einbringen. Mit der Veröffentlichung der ersten öffentlichen Betaversion des MS Internet Explorer 7 (vorsicht, Contradictio in adjecto - MSIE ist seit Urzeiten Beta-Software!) kommen auf die diversen Webdeveloper, die besonders clever sein wollten und daher von etlichen CSS-Hacks Gebrauch gemacht haben, neue Probleme zu, denn Winzigweich hat sich entschieden, mal wieder neues Stückwerk aktueller Standards ins “unterstützen wir”-Portfolio hinzuzufügen. Das führt dazu, dass etliche CSS Hacks und Fixes mit MSIE 7 nicht mehr funktionieren werden, weil der Browser auf die hierzu ausgenutzten Bugs nicht mehr hereinfällt.
