Hell, first english post of mine for ages, and then it’s not some more or less useful news but a desperate call for help due to some nuisance which is obviously caused by some incomplience between WordPress 2.3 Beta and Ultimate Tag Warrior PI edition.
You can see my problem live, if you just switch to the Archives static page, scroll down to the tag cloud and try to view the posts of one of the tags. You will run into a 404 error. And now my problem: I just cannot get rid of this fucking 404 error. It is regardless whether I use URL rewriting for the tags or not, it just does not matter!. If you call http://www.4null4.de/tags/blogs it will result in the very same 404 as if you’d prefer http://www.4null4.de/index.php?tag=blogs. So, obviously, the issue is not caused by my custom permalink structure but by WordPress engine itself.
I already tried each and every hint and hack to be found with the great data octopus named Google, hacked both UTW and / or “wp-includes/classes.php”, but neither combination of any hack works. So my suspicion is that WordPress development crew severly broke something when they implemented their own poor tagging stuff into the core, rendering one of the most important plugins for WordPress nearly useless.
Unfortunately, Christine Davis, mastermind behind UTW development, does not respond to any requests for help as well (her board is filled with open and unanswered requests for different topics), so there does not seem to be any solution available on the net, yet.
So, my dear readers, if anybody of you has some “Columbus’ egg” idea how to fix this shit, please let me know. You can be sure that many, many WordPress users will be very thankful to you, not only me
